Myanmar Mizo Organization

Our Mission:

Our mission is to provide assistance to the displaced people of Myanmar with a focus on the Mizo population. Our focus is first on helping the survival of these “forgotten people”, but ultimately on the building a base for the future through education. Our charity has direct ties to leaders in various refugee camps in the Northeast of India as well as those still within the Myanmar border. The money donated will go to these camps to supply food, fund education, and help them build a future.

More about the need

Of the nearly 70,000 Myanmar citizens displaced and now in India, approximately 36% of those are children. These children need support to continue their education. The refugee camps have makeshift schools, but are lacking teachers that can teach English, supplies such as pens / paper / lesson books / books in general, and completely lack computers for the students to learn basic skills that are needed in today’s world.

Refugee Camps

Multiple camps exist across the state of Mizoram

Aizawl, Mizoram

Zokhawthar, Mizoram

Why we do what we do…

The needs are so many for these displaced people. Basics, like food and water are urgent needs, but longer-term sustainability, like land for farming, training, and education are also critical to the survival of these people.
